How I Evolved
My career began with stories.
Before WordPress, before server migrations, before accessibility audits and performance optimization, I was designing magazines, building advertisements, managing publications, and helping organizations connect with their audiences through print.
I was fortunate enough to discover design early. What started with PageMaker, Photoshop, and late nights in a college newsroom grew into a career spanning more than 25 years across publishing, branding, web development, digital strategy, infrastructure, and technical leadership.
Along the way, I've worn a lot of hats: Art Director, Graphic Designer, Web Developer, Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, and occasional professional bug hunter. Each role taught me something different, but they all reinforced the same lesson: great experiences don't happen by accident. They're built with intention, maintained with care, and improved over time.
Following my passion for building with focused intention has guided my work supporting hundreds of publishers, businesses, nonprofits, tourism organizations, and franchise systems. I've rebuilt publishing platforms, modernized websites, architected multisite networks, led migrations, improved accessibility, optimized performance, and solved more technical mysteries than I can count.
What excites me most isn't launching something new. It's helping it grow. I enjoy understanding how things work, improving them, documenting them, and building systems that continue delivering value long after launch day.
When I'm away from a keyboard, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, spoiling our dog Guinevere, exploring a new hobby, or diving headfirst into whatever topic has captured my curiosity this week.
Because if there's one thing that's been true throughout my career, it's this:
The best things are built to evolve.
